Final Play for 3 Hewlett Bulldogs

Players will compete in Senior Bowl with other all-stars from Long Island.

The Nassau County Senior Bowl at Mitchel Athletic Complex on Wednesday will be the last time three Hewlett Bulldogs will play together on the field.

But quarterback Alex Kahn, who will play alongside defensive end Jeff Cooper and special teams player Lenny Canales, said he would make the most out of it.

"I consider it a privilege to be a part of this game and I am really looking forward to it," Kahn said. "It is great that I will be able to play one more game and play with some of the other best players on Long Island."

The matchup, which begins at 7 p.m. in Uniondale, will pit all-stars from Conference I and IV against the top players from Conference II and III.

"It is going to be some really good football out there," said Hewlett head coach Jay Iaquinta. "There will be a lot of talent on both sides of the ball."

Star defensive tackle Niv Sultan was scheduled to play, but was sidelined due to an elbow injury.

Cooper, who has been a nightmare to opposing offenses all season, said the game would be a great opportunity to play with some of the best athletes from different teams. "I know some of these guys from competing in our conference, but there are other kids I don't know and it will be fun competing and playing against them."

He said the only thing that upsets him is not having the rest of his fellow Bulldogs on the field. "I wish that all of our guys could play, but it is still a great feeling that I get to play another game of football."
