Golden Tornadoes Returning to Field as Defending Champions

The Lawrence Golden Tornadoes will be defending champions when the team gets on the field again in September.

The Golden Tornadoes had an astonishing 2012 season, plowing through the regular season undefeated to become Nassau County champions and breaking records along the way. The team, led by quarterback Joe Capobianco and wide receiver Ed Robinson, then took the title of Long Island champions after defeating Sayville 21-20.

This season will be Capobianco’s last foray on the high school field, but the team is now without graduates including Robinson, running back Tyler Fredericks and lineman John Perrone.
