Hewlett, Lawrence Compete in Track and Field Championships

Hewlett boys and girls each place second, while Lawrence girls place seventh.

The Hewlett girls and boys track teams excelled at the 2011 Nassau County Track and Field Championship on May 24 at Cold Spring Harbor High School, with both coming in second in class AA. The Lawrence girls team placed seventh in AA.

“This event has been very well received and we were fortunate to get this facility to host. The teams have been great, the competition has been great and the times have been great,” said tournament director Bob Bush. “There were a lot of people to come out and just to see the support that the parents give their kids is really great as well.”

Here's how the Five Towns teams fared in the county championship.
