The Hewlett Thunder, a travel baseball team consisting of 10- and 11-yearold boys, finished this season with a 13-1 record, the best in their division, according to the team's coach.
The team played in the “Federation 10U division” of the National Junior Baseball League against teams across Nassau County, said Coach Ken Rochler. All the players attend school in District 14.
"We continually teach the boys the game while having fun doing it," Rochler said. "The goal is to hand off solid baseball players to the coaches at when they reach seventh grade."
