Town Unveils Sign for Lawrence Football's 2012 Victory

Hempstead Town Supervisor Kate Murray and Councilman Jim Darcy joined players, coaches and administrators to unveil a championship sign celebrating the Lawrence High School football team’s 2012 Long Island Championship.

Along with the outstanding players who achieved “gridiron success” as Long Island Champs and Rutgers Cup Winners as the best football team in Nassau County, officials attending the sign presentation are (second row, left to right) Assistant Coach Frank Zangari, Head Coach Joseph Martillotti, Darcy, Murray, Athletic Director Pat Pizzarelli, Lawrence High School Principal Dr. Jennifer Lagnado and Superintendent Gary Schall.  

The Lawrence “Golden Tornadoes” completed an undefeated season with a victory over Suffolk Champ Sayville High School in a thrilling Long Island Championship Game.
