A toy drive spearheaded by Dime Bank in cooperation with and Nassau Herald brought extra holiday cheer and bright smiles to many.

Over the past two weeks a beautifully decorated box was filled with toys and games by many Dime clients, employees, and citizens. Last week, Andy Ali and Betty Rodriguez of The Dime, far right, were accompanied by chest board member Steven Liebman, center, and director Bob Block as they delivered over 150 new unwrapped toys to Pepper Robinson, far left, at the Five Towns Early Learning Center on Wahl Ave in Inwood.

Additionally, Everett and Waveney Brown and their 11-year-old son Kevin presented over two dozen sets of scarves and gloves holiday wrapped with a children’s book as part of a project from the of Inwood.

The children were very appreciative, but the memorable comment was offered by The Dime’s Assistant Manager Andy Ali, as he said that “this is the best part of Christmas” and that he was going to put the collection box in a safe place until next year.
