Video: Inwood Man Commissioned As Marine Corps Officer

Daniel Vacchio was named second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps on June 24th in front of dozens of friends and family at his Inwood home.

This Independence Day, Patch saluted Inwood's Daniel Vacchio.

The 22-year-old graduate was commissioned on June 24th as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps, the rank a marine recieves upon completing Officer Candidates School in Quantico, Va.

Friends and family packed the driveway of the Vacchio household to witness the event. On hand was Inwood Republican Commitee Leader Frank Mistero on behalf of Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos, who presented Danny with a certificate of recognition for his accomplishments.

Next March, Vacchio will report to Quantico for six months of initial training.
