Weekend Planner: Tracy Morgan Performs, Last Hope Benefit, Blood Drive

As the week winds down, people are looking for things to do to keep busy this weekend around Nassau County.

Here's a look at what's happening around the local area:

Tracy Morgan at Governor's Comedy Club:

• Comedian Tracy Morgan will be performing in a special event at Governor's in Levittown this weekend.

• Gather some friends and family and join us at the historic Walt Whitman House for a relaxed evening while we sample some of the wines selected and donated by Stew Leonards.

• The Long Island Police Tug-Of-War Championship will take place on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Jones Beach Field 4. This event brings together Law Enforcement Officials from Nassau and Suffolk with the goal of raising funds and awareness for our wounded Veterans and their families.

• "Your Happiness Matters" will feature a full lineup of entertainment and wisdom in Garden City. The event will be held at Adelphi University Performing Arts Center on Friday at 7 p.m.

• We are promoting an 80's Freestyle music event on Friday at Mulcahy's. Our venue is right by the LIRR and we will have live performances by Judy Torres, TKA, Cynthia, George LaMond and Kimberly.

• Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that Nassau County will host Fresh FM Presents: Fresh in the Park on Saturday at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theatre in Eisenhower Park. The show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

• Foot-stomping, internationally-acclaimed Antigone Rising rocks Nickerson Beach Park on Sunday.

• Head to the Garden City Pool for Friday Family Night. The featured movie is the popular Disney film "Wrek-it-Ralph."

• A fundraiser for Dennis Carley, who was critically injured in a motorcycle accident in Delaware July 17, will be held at RC Dugans Sunday, 5-8 p.m.

• Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano announced that Nassau County will host “Children’s Day” on Sunday, July 28 from 3-7 p.m. at Eisenhower Park. Admission is free.
