Rock Hall Museum

The Rock Hall Museum provides a window into the past. The site was built in 1767 and belonged to the Martin and Hewlett families. The Hewlett family gave the pre-Revolutionary War house to the town of Hempstead in 1948, and it opened as a museum five years later. Visitors can see what life was like in the eighteenth century, all for free. Call the museum for information on special events.
