Flag as Inappropriate

Temple Israel of Lawrence boasts of being the oldest synagogue in Nassau and Suffolk counties. The temple building was erected in 1930, and a school was added in 1966. A religious school also teaches students two days a week. Under Rabbi Jay Rosenbaum, Temple Israel has built up its international high school exchange program, established in 2000, with Germany, Rome and France. The liberal temple says it serves the Five Towns community and treats each of its members as individuals.
