Tricia. My heart is hurting for Gio's parents. My son too has peanut allergies. He also is aRead More student at Holy Trinity so this is so close to home. As my son gets older and more independent, we are more nervous that he might accidently eat the wrong thing or forget to ask. I'm so sorry for your loss. You will be in our prayers. If anyone knows what Gio ate, I would love to know.

THESE ARE THE MEN THAT MADE AMERICA GREAT

I had the not so pleasurable experience of flying with Mr. Lederer in the winter of 1993, six monthsRead More after I graduated from Florida Tech with an aviation degree and false sense of accomplishment. On the tarmac at Republic Airport, after what I thought was a rather uneventful 45 minute CFI check-out ride, he proceeded to tell me that he just witnessed some of the poorest flying technique he has seen in many years. Probably the worst of anyone he had flown with who had a degree from my University. He advised me that I should take some time to figure out if this is what I wanted to do, and to call him back in I ever got my "stuff" together(he did not say stuff). It's been 20 years and I have never flown another check-ride. I was a hurt and angry 22 yr. old, but the truth is I often think that he probably save some lives by being brutally honest to me that day. They do not make them like him much anymore. RIP Sir!

Yesterday, Nassau County paid farewell to one of its finest. By all accounts, Highway PatrolmanRead More Joseph Olivieri was a cop's cop who made his family, his friends and his beloved department proud. All to often in today's fast past world we loose sight of the dedicated, tireless and vigilant service preformed by Nassau County's Finest. All to often the inherent dangers of the job surface and there are times when even one of the Finest falls. Let us remember this good mans sacrifice and for his commitment to put the safety and security of others first. Rest in peace Officer Olivieri. May God Bless you and provide comfort to all those suffering by your passing.

Yes this absolutely REEKS of politics and cover up. Did the driver of the Cadillac escalade give aRead More blood sample?? Why not?? They killed a police officer after all. Oh wait, I forgot, there was someone in the vicinity with a BAC of .09 An easy target for political gain. An easy scapegoat to get the connected Cadillac driver off the hook. Maybe a fundraiser for mr Ryan's defense is in order. We can't allow witch hunters to prevail. Not in the 21st century. And a special investigation should be conducted to determine why the Cadillac Escalade is not being held accountable for their actions.
J Boyd October 26, 2012 at 06:47 am
Don't you conspiracy theorists think that a cops kid (Mr.Ryan) would be the one avioidingRead More prosecution if all these scary theories you say are true???????? Did you miss that in the article?? I do agree--the Escalade should be looked into--but how do you know it wasn't???? Leave the law to the professionals. The lawyers make it entertaining enough. A police officer was killed performing his duties. I can promise you any and every avenue was checked and double checked, especially because of an officers death.
