Five Decades of Volunteer Fire Service

Former Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Commissioner Vincent Dieringer was recently honored for 50 years of service to the community.

Dieringer, joined by family members and friends, received accolades from fellow members and chiefs of the department. He was the recipient of a lifetime achievement award by County Executive Edward Mangano. Town of Hempstead Councilman Anthony Santino also awarded Dieringer.

As one of the speakers was honoring Dieringer, LCFD volunteers rushed out the doors of Mother Kelly’s in Cedarhurst as a fire call was sounded.
