Firefighters Practice Skills at Simulated Plane Crash

Firefighters from Inwood and Lawrence-Cedarhurst last week participated in a mock plane crash drill at Jones Beach.

"Being in such close proximity to JFK, this drill was an excellent hands-on opportunity for our members should we ever be faced with an actual incident," said Lawrence-Cedarhurst Fire Department Deputy Chief Anthony Rivelli.

Fire crews were instructed on firefighting and rescue operations on a fuselage prop at the Nassau County Fire Service Academy-hosted drill. Firefighters from across the county participated.
